Reasons I love summer part 3

Fresh Peas/Beans
Fresh speckled butter beans purchased at the local farm stand. Aren't they gorgeous?

Reasons I love summer part 2

Southerners love to share their harvest.
Summer squash grown by my dad's secretary.
Sauted w/ vidalia onions and garlic. Added a bit of fresh (homegrown) parsley, dried dill, curry powder and creole mustard. Saute till squash is tender. Sigh...............

Perfect Salads
Fresh Arugula with home grown tomatoes and cucumbers. Black beans cooked in the slow cooker. Dressing of fresh lemon juice and organic extra virgin olive oil. Sprinkled w/ a little Tony's. Perfect. Lunch.

Bread Baking part 2

Fresh out of the Oven!
Delish fresh bread with Ruston peach jam....

It's so hard to be a domestic goddess......sigh......!

Bread Baking!


1. mix yeast, water and a little bit of honey. let sit 5 minutes


2. add 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour. mix. cover with tea towel and let rise 1 hour (weed tomato plants and mulch w/ newspaper and chicken poop pine shavings)


Bruneaux got a little to close to the action while I was kneading the dough....
Kneaded dough....ready to rise again.....
